- Each site manager shall send the other a short, clear and concise blurb to use as a description with the link and what a visitor may find there
Links may appear on more than one page if desired. - Said link/s can be removed at any time for any reason or no reason and without notice. Common sense says this shouldn’t happen if both parties are willing to open a
communications link and discuss the situation simply to lead to better understanding and relationships between themselves. Reasons for dropping links could be as simple as a policy change by the Board of Directors for one of the websites and have nothing to do with the links themselves.
- Maintenance of the link is dependent on each site carrying the other’s link consistently.

- A It just seems like a good way to offer further benefits for visitors to either website. A visitor to your site may find it handy to have a link to the St. Lawrence Valley SPCA web site handy, while it may also work in reverse,
too. If someone is accepted to adopt a pet from us, it might be handy for them to have a nearby reference to your site if you provide training videos, books, etc..
- Q Yeah, you just want to boost your Search Engine Rankings, don’t you?
- A Actually, no although I wish it worked that way. We serve a very rural, local geographic area so the number of cross-links
won’t be very high. A link to anywhere in say Illinois isn’t going to do our visitors any good, but a link to say an animal clothing store on the other side of town might be something appreciated by a few of our visitors.
- Q How do we go about getting started?
- A Just drop an e-mail to the info at e-mail address. We’ll look over your site as
you’re looking ours over, and as long as you’ve given a legitimate e-mail address, we’ll initiate a conversation. We’ll agree to a deadline for the links to appear and that’s about it. We’ll have your link up within a day or so barring unforeseen circumstances.
