Diseases
[SPCA Home Page] [Medical] [DeWorming] [Heartworm] [HooknRound] [Tapeworms]

This area will require some time to flesh out, but it’ll come.  The point here isn’t so much to define a gazillion diseases as it is to enable the visitor to better determine whether their pet needs veterinary assistance or not and possibly alert them to unrecognized emergency situations.  In our case we would rather err on the side of caution so if we aren’t firmly convinced that “little bump” on our pet is perfectly OK, off to the vet they go!
   It can be expensive but that’s a lot better than the alternatives when it comes to a pet I consider as much a part of the family as I am.  I’d have said “my wife” there, but ... she reads these pages!!    :^}

   This is a bad one; if possible, always have any new pet tested for it.
